Is MO considered a relapse? - feeling crap

Hi,

I MO'd two nights ago - is this considered a relapse when no porn involved? I was 40 days into Reboot.

I found the following day I had the most severe headaches I've ever had, truly excruciatingly painful beyond belief.

Help!

I'm dealing with this question right now too, mainly because I know the day is coming when the urge/trigger will hit and I'm going to have to be ready.  Gut reaction is to say that if the problem is really severe (Causes headaches after MOing, still having issues with a partner, etc.), maybe even MOing is something to still avoid.  In that case, you might consider it a relapse.

THAT said....it sounds like you had a pretty rough experience after, so the relapse aftermath could help you think, "Oh hell no, that's not something I want again" for the rest of the reboot, which might be a benefit (But I certainly don't want to implicitly endorse anything that would slow your recovery).  In any event, I commend you for being honest about it and seeking advice.  That's a lesson we can all learn from you.

Not considered a relapse unless it involved porn or porn fantasy. Remember, a reboot is just going without porn. It's not a no masturbation or orgasm program even though it's said that going without orgasm for some time can speed the reboot process. Also there are some who claim orgasm - from masturbation or even sex - drops them into a flatline.

Not sure what the deal is with the headaches. I tried MOing just before my 60th PMO-free day and didn't notice any side effects. No flatline, no drop in energy, nothing.

Like the two other respondents said, it is not a relapse. You might have been confused by the May no PMO challenge thread. MO might slow the progress of your reboot  but if it is without P it is not a relapse. That is the reason you might feel slightly shitty afterwards. I think it is because you are still somehow not ready.

I have noticed physiolgical efects from either or PMO. For me its full body trembling if I watch porn after not watching for awhile. I also notice when MO with porn or even non porn images women, I can get a kind of brain fog, not necessarily painful just annoying. From what I understand, rebooting isn't MO free, just PMO free. Though NOfapping, or at least minimal fapping can be helpful in recovery.
