"The first post of the journal is the proper way to introduce yourself to everyone in the forum. Tell us your background, goals, sticking points, etc. Take your time and make it as detailed as possible."
I am not new to rebooting. This is my second attempt. The first time was successful. I learned about the no fap concept and decided that I needed to give it a try. It sounded like a good idea. Since I am 40 and have been masturbating since about 13 I realized that I have never in my life had a period of time without masturbation. I succeeded for over 90 days. Then I started back, slowly. Up until a few days ago I was fapping about 3 times a day, and watching porn each time. I realize that it's an escape and a way to sooth myself from some of life's issues and unhappiness. I have a better idea, take the bull by the horns and keep taking positive action so that I can actually solve some of the problems I have.
This is a journal to document my second reboot. I started on June 1 and haven't watched porn or fapped since. Today is day 4. I have full confidence that I will make it. I am keeping a calendar and also using the Seinfeld method. This way I can see my progress visually. I find it very motivating.
As far as sticking points I am not sure what they are. Like I said, I made it 90 days last time. I did have a girlfriend at that time so there was some sexual release. This time I don't so the challenge will be somewhat different. I still have confidence that I will last.
The other piece of advise I'd have for those on this site is to get a copy of the book "changeoogy" by John C. Norcross Ph.D. It talks about how to make and break habits. It's the best self help book I've ever purchased, and it will definitely help you with this journey.
I probably will not be posting every day but several times a week. I am looking for an accountability partner, as one of the main things I've learned form the book is how important it is to have help with reaching your goals.
Let's start this off:
What am I grateful for today:
- I am grateful for having made it 3 days without PMO. Considering how much I was fapping prior I am almost shocked I could make it this long.
- I was in a bicycle accident yesterday. I am grateful that I am only bruised and scratched up a bit. Actually, it felt kinda good. For those who like to workout you may know what I mean. Man up. lol
- I am grateful for where I live. I wake up to birds every morning. They sound beautiful. I could be worse. There could be sirens, cars, trains, etc. Instead I get to hear mother nature. How cool is that?
