Yes I'm sure there's a lot of us with similar stories. 40 years is a long time but I thank God that I'm making progress and hopefully the last part of my life will be an adventure in learning who I am. I'm glad to hear that people are reading my posts and getting inspiration from them. I'm at the point now where I want to help as many people overcome this addiction that I can. I know there are many ways to beat this habit and I am just telling what worked for me and I hope it helps others make progress.

Today is day 120 for me. Four months of freedom from PMO. This is the longest I've ever gone on any streak. This time it is different because I have the knowledge and tools that I learned from this site to be done with porn forever. My advice to everyone is to do the hard 90 days and follow what you read on the site. You can't go wrong and it is well worth it. Good luck everyone
Congratulations Jon. 120 days clean is a great beginning to living the rest of your life without PMO. Today is day 35 for me and like you this time does seem different. Way too early for me to claim victory but refusing to engage with porn substitutes or even allow myself to look at real women is making it much easier than my previous attempt. I had sex with the wife yesterday so I'm not true hard mode but since our sex is quite infrequent it almost feels like that. I didn't allow myself to imagine anything during sex, no hypersexual thoughts or making believe one of us was someone else. I think that is the reason I'm not experiencing any chaser effect, which had also been a problem in the past. It's about 5 a.m. where I am and it is normal for me to be up now. This used to be a big PMO hour for me but not anymore. My mood is ok today. I don't feel like skipping down the sidewalk but I am grateful for the sobriety this past 35 days. Once again, your thread and all the stuff from William is making a huge difference in my recovery and my life. Have a blessed day!

It's getting easier with each passing week and although I still have a ways to go, I'm very optimistic and feeling a greater degree of self mastery than I've ever felt over PMO.
