Please Help Me with HTML!

I've tried getting help from the Administrators about this to no avail! I've also spent well over an hour trying to figure this out on my own but find myself frustrated. So I thought I'd ask you guys. (Please forgive me if this isn't the proper place to post this!)

How do I attach an image to a post?? Can I attach a PDF or does it need to be a JPEG? I created a post where I alluded to an image (about the "3 Circles") that I couldn't attach OR display using HTML. The file was only 29K as a PDF but I kept getting an error message telling me that the upload folder was full.

I tried using the tags with a URL in between them but that didn't work. Then I looked up the tag and it it seems like I need something like: [IMG] src="URL" and then a closing tag. Only in the examples I found the brackets are angled like this <>. Can someone explain this to me??

Thanks!!

PF56, try the 'Attachments and other options' link underneath the box where you type your text.  There's an 'Attach' section with a 'Choose File' button that will let you attach a pic or pdf file.

Thanks for your suggestion but I've tried this over a dozen times, thinking that the problem might be fixed over time. I've tried using a PDF file as well as a JPEG file.

I took a screenshot of the error to attach it to this post but got the same error again! Here is how it reads:

An Error Has Occurred!
The upload folder is full. Please try a smaller file and/or contact an administrator.

The attachment I was trying to attach just now is 25K. The one I've been trying to attach to my post is only 29K. Surely, size can't be the issue! Unfortunately, I haven't heard back from an administrator after a couple of queries which is why I'm reaching out to the community.

I'm still waiting for someone to help me with this! I'm going to be the proverbial squeaky wheel until I get some help. There are images that I'd like to post and I can't figure it out. It seems like it should be straightforward but it's not!

Ok that was my test. I didn't try to attach anything, I just used a linked image. Forum software often has trouble hosting its own images. The easiest way is to upload your image to a photo sharing site and then copy the link between the img tags (the button just under the Bold button.

Thanks malando! I've tried this numerous times but it doesn't work for me. I'm going to try it again right here...

When I clicked preview, all I got was a tiny blue question mark icon. I'll try posting and see if this makes a difference but I doubt it! Any other suggestions?

Yes, dropbox is its own special case. Dropbox ?public links? are not direct links to the image file itself, but rather to an interstitial page that frames the image and gives you options for downloading the file, etc. Not embeddable at all.

The link you got from the image page was:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/zevuectj9kibjt1/13.jpg?dl=0

To successfully include the image in this blog post, add ?raw=1 to the URL in place of the ?dl=0 like so:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/zevuectj9kibjt1/13.jpg?raw=1

then put the image tags on:
