Second day hard mode. No excuses cause I've had enough of this addiction controlling me.

"If you are as seriously PORNoholic as we were, we believe there is no middle-of-the-road solution."

I need to expose a ridiculous reservation I've been having since becoming abstinent (14 days ago). I keep fantasizing about watching Game of Thrones, when the new season airs in a couple of months. It's the last season, and I really want to know how the story ends. But I'm a porn addict, and I also know that there's a TON of softcore porn in that show, which is exactly what my addiction wants to feed on. My mind keeps saying "You'll be fine. By the time it airs, you'll be cured, and you can watch stuff like a normal person, with impunity." Or, "Everyone else is going to be watching it, and you'll be left out." I need to make a decision about this now, and I probably should just go ahead and remove the HBO app from my Roku. There's hardly anything on that channel that isn't TV-MA (that I'd want to watch, anyway), and I'm trying to stick to a PG-13 mental diet. Moreover, I simply don't think I can be "cured" of porn addiction, in the sense that I can ever watch it again without spiraling out of control with it. If I'm enjoying my porn use, I'm not controlling it. And if I'm controlling my porn use, I'm not enjoying it. Anyway, hope all are well out there. Happy Tuesday!

That's right, man. Don't fall into that trap. I've quit watching my TV shows because of this and I don't regret it. Why sabotage myself? I want to cure myself and I will do anything.

I agree man. The addiction definitely has something to do with your fantasizing about Game of Thrones and your "You'll be fine. By the time it airs..." thought processes. I go through similar things as well. I never did get into GOT because of the soft porn. If memory serves me correct, the very first episode had some nudity in it and from that point I told myself that GOT wasn't for me.

Happy Tuesday to you as well.

Happy Tuesday to you as well.

I had to give up some TV series and one right after the first 20 minutes of the first episode for this particular reason. My brain wants any micro-dose. If I don't give my brain the full dose of P, it wants even a picture. Anything. This thing could be subtle and some people might not even realize it. They think they're doing a great job staying away from hardcore P but their TV series or their Facebook is the first sip from the bottle and then they switch to porn and drink the whole bottle, before they realize. If we are aware of this, we don't need to sabotage ourselves. I even had to quit some stupid fetishes I had because one of these made me relapse 3 days ago. If we seriously want to cure ourselves, we really need to up our game and do anything it takes and stay away from anything in order to do it.

Is it too late to join? I am 11 days into a reboot but have had issues with peaking and edging and nearly relapsed today. SO i need something to encourage me.

Please join in Sentimental Geek    Its never too late to join a challenge  The thread is good just for ensuring a bit of accountability by just giving you somewhere to go each day  a steady reminder  of why we are here  and to give and receive even a short  piece of encouragement  The 30 day challenge was not a big goal  like the 90 day reboot  its a smaller easier  one to meet  and even  those who join in a few days late  it is worth their while for sure

Post often it helped me it will help you

Most people, especially newies, fail multiple times because they do not understand the problem they are seeking a solution for.  Too many think the problem is "porn", and so think the solution is quitting watching porn.  That is too simplistic, and in fact, wrong.  The problem is using porn to achieve a dopamine rush.  It is the dopamine rush that is addictive, not the porn we use to get it.  Gary Wilson figured it out 6 years ago.  Watch this, study this.  It helps.
