Day 9 no PMO ✅

It's been a minute since my last update.
I've navigated through relapses and winning streaks, from doubting my fate as a forever addict to embracing the resolve to conquer this demon.

A week into Sober October, I've steered clear of alcohol and cigarettes.
I crushed 20,000 steps yesterday and already clocked 10,000 this morning.

Intermittent fasting was on my menu yesterday, and I'm yet to break my fast today.

Brace yourselves, because I'm gearing up to tackle the 75 Hard challenge once more.
Today marks Day 2 of this epic journey to fortify my mind and body!" 🚀💪

-------------------------------------------------------

The 75 Hard Challenge

Day 1 (yesterday)

The 75 Hard Challenge is made up of six ‘non-negotiable rules’ which have to be completed for 75 days straight:
  • Stick to a diet, any diet (Intermittent fasting) ✅
  • Absolutely no alcohol/cigarettes or cheat meals are allowed ✅
  • Complete two 45-minute workouts per day ✅
  • Drink 4.5 litres of water each day. ✅
  • Take a weekly progress photo (not a fan of taking pictures of myself every day, once a week is doable). ✅
  • Read 10 pages of inspirational non-fiction each day. ✅
All in all, I feel great.
Social media however is still an issue, and without it, I get so depressed, so what I've resolved to do is to create pages/accounts that focus on my dreams/needs/and wants. So far, that has been a great help, and I don't get triggered as much as before.

Hey there, I like that hard challenge but be careful with the 4,5L water a day. Some people get ill with that amount. Mayo Clinic says 3,7L for a man, given that 80% comes from drinking and 20% from food, that is 3L of drinking water a day.

Will make a note of that, what i have is a 1.8 litre glass water bottle that i always carry around, I fill it up twice and drink when ever I feel parched.

Day 10 no PMO ✅

I had a bit of an epic sleep-in mishap today! 😅 My body was absolutely beat from the long walk yesterday, and the melatonin pill I took was like a sleep ninja – knocked me out cold! 😴 I had big plans to rise and shine before 6 am for my morning walk today, but I woke up fashionably late instead. 🕰️ So, I lounged in bed and casually started scrolling through Instagram. 📱 It was at that moment when my brain went, "Hey, it's time to consider PMO." 😳

I resisted the temptation like a boss, though! 💪 But then, it hit me – that pesky habit of wanting to PMO hits me when I linger in bed. 🛌 So, I made a mental note to myself: "Next time, jump out of bed and hit that exercise routine!" 💥 Didn't quite manage it today, but hey, lessons learned in style! 🚀 #MorningMindset #SelfImprovementJourney

The 75 Hard Challenge

Day 2 (yesterday)

The 75 Hard Challenge is made up of six ‘non-negotiable rules’ which have to be completed for 75 days straight:
  • Stick to a diet, any diet (Intermittent fasting, I ate lunch and dinner, the cravings got to me) ❌
  • Absolutely no alcohol/cigarettes or cheat meals are allowed. I know it will be hard for me to avoid burgers, I love them so much. and I caved in Yesterday. ❌
  • Complete two 45-minute workouts per day or a single 1:30 hour long workout ✅
  • Drink 4 litres of water each day. ✅
  • Take a weekly progress photo (not a fan of taking pictures of myself every day, once a week is doable). ✅
  • Read 10 pages of inspirational non-fiction each day. ✅
The sleep I got yesterday was fantastic, I feel awesome. I don't remember the last time i felt this good on a tuesday, I'd usually be recovering from the drinking binge of the weekend.

The Melatonin pills have been helping so much, combined with the walking, this completely knocks me out.

The 75 Hard Challenge

Day 3 (yesterday)

The 75 Hard Challenge is made up of six ‘non-negotiable rules’ which have to be completed for 75 days straight:
  • Stick to a diet, any diet (Intermittent fasting) during my walk, I caved in and bought some chicken from a kiosk and it smelled so good. I also ordered a burger... damn. ❌
  • Absolutely no alcohol/cigarettes or cheat meals are allowed. I know it will be hard for me to avoid burgers, I love them so much. and I caved in Yesterday... again ❌
  • Complete two 45-minute workouts per day or a single 1:30 hour long workout. Walked for 2 hours, 18 000 steps ✅
  • Drink 4 litres of water each day. ✅
  • Take a weekly progress photo (not a fan of taking pictures of myself every day, once a week is doable). ✅
  • Read 10 pages of inspirational non-fiction each day. ✅
Sleep comes so easily and "naturally" now. I've been consistently passing out before midnight for the past few days where I walked/worked out.
I think i have a bit more will power now, I get urges even when i'm scorrling on social media, but i can resit going on to watch porn and MO.

The 75 Hard Challenge

Day 4 (yesterday)

The 75 Hard Challenge is made up of six ‘non-negotiable rules’ which have to be completed for 75 days straight:
  • Stick to a diet, any diet (Intermittent fasting): I ate more than once but I had steamed sweet potatoes and air fried chicken breasts ❌
  • Absolutely no alcohol/cigarettes or cheat meals are allowed: Success ✅
  • Complete two 45-minute workouts per day or a single 1:30 hour long workout: Felt like my legs/feet needed a rest❌
  • Drink 4 litres of water each day: Only had about 2 litres ❌
  • Take a weekly progress photo: ✅
  • Read 10 pages of inspirational non-fiction each day: ✅
I've identified a new issue, social media dependance. I spend way too much time on social media, I have to do something about this.
I had strong urges to PMO about 5 times, and resisted those urges like a boss!

The 75 Hard Challenge

Day 5 (yesterday)

The 75 Hard Challenge is made up of six ‘non-negotiable rules’ which have to be completed for 75 days straight:
  • Stick to a diet, any diet (Intermittent fasting): I find that I crave food so intensely these days its disgusting, I ate twice yesterday, couldnt control myself. ❌
  • Absolutely no alcohol/cigarettes or cheat meals are allowed: Success ✅
  • Complete two 45-minute workouts per day or a single 1:30 hour long workout: I'm slipping❌
  • Drink 4 litres of water each day: Only had about 2 litres ❌
  • Take a weekly progress photo: ✅
  • Read 10 pages of inspirational non-fiction each day: I find reddit to be a great source of motivation these days, the pages i've subscribed to are definitely much better than the pages i subscribed to on twitter/facebook/instagram ✅
Twitter and Instagram keep triggering me, I think that the only reason I haven't given in is because i'm convinced that pornographic material and alcohol are not only poison but that they are evil spirits as well.

I'm starting to think that junk food is also a demon whose sole purpose is to destroy.

I need to pick up better habits before I slip up again.

You may find that the workouts help with all your cravings disproportionately more than the other things on your list.

  • Read 10 pages of inspirational non-fiction each day: Repeat after me STST "Reddit is not a book, I repeat, Reddit is not a book"❌
It's the first time I post here on a saturday, I'm usually drunk out of my mind or comatosed from a hangover.
Now I find myself with so much time and nothing to do.

I'm just glad that I'm not doing the most lamest activity ever known to man.

The 75 Hard Challenge

Day 7 (yesterday)

The 75 Hard Challenge is made up of six ‘non-negotiable rules’ which have to be completed for 75 days straight:
  • Stick to a diet, any diet (Intermittent fasting):I ate twice again, why do burgers taste so good ❌
  • Absolutely no alcohol/cigarettes or cheat meals are allowed: Success, major success, especially considering that I was/am a weekend bender guy ✅
  • Complete two 45-minute workouts per day or a single 1:30 hour long workout: I have to start asking myself, how bad do i want it... I bought a huge mirror online so that every single time, I can look at my body ❌
  • Drink 4 litres of water each day: Success ✅
  • Take a weekly progress photo: Because of this, I will be posting once a day on this forum from now on ✅
  • Read 10 pages of inspirational non-fiction each day: Repeat after me STST "Netflix is not a book"❌
The weaknesses that I have identified now are my phone habits, my lust for junk food, and watching movies/series all the time.

I'm just glad that I'm not doing the most lamest activity ever known to Men!

Day 0

I prematurely abandoned my training wheels, particularly in the aspect of maintaining daily journals, rather than focusing on meditation. I reverted to my previous habits and quickly spiraled into a state of depression.

Then, it struck me that I had received a diagnosis of elevated Prolactin levels a year ago. After undergoing an MRI scan, doctors identified a prolactinoma, a benign brain tumor that suppresses testosterone production.

I began to contemplate whether this chemical imbalance in my body might be the root cause of my struggle to remain free from PMO (pornography, masturbation, orgasm).

With this realization, I made the decision to take action. This Friday, I'm scheduled to meet with an Endocrinologist to work towards restoring my chemical balance.

I'll keep you updated as soon as there are any new developments.

I relapsed(n) booze wise, and PMO wise.

so this makes it Day 0 again.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
A lady friend was so persistent that we should watch the Rugby at the bar.

The game was so tense.

The game was at 03:00 am and honestly, I didn't stand a chance to resist alcohol.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The hospital I went to was not well equipped to assist me with my Prolactinoma, I should be going to a bigger hospital this Friday.

Anyway, It's No Nut November, and I succeeded last year, and I feel so confident that I will succeed again this month.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I deleted my Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook accounts, If I don't log in within the next 30 days, those accounts will be gone forever:)

I feel good today.

Day 1

Not being on social media the whole day yesterday made me realize something, not only am I less triggered to watch porn and masturbate, but I also have fewer PTSD flashback-induced memories.

I do pick up my phone and I would open and close the same apps multiple times throughout the day, but now I'm using Duolingo more, and my Bible app more.

I will have to really force myself to use the Workout app more though.

However, I will celebrate this victory today.
